Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Norris Architecture focuses on the quality of design rather than a particular stylistic tradition. This process allows us to explore all the traditions, from the classic to the modern.  We strongly believe in learning from history and applying it to modern living.  Understanding that every project and client is unique, we work to gain a full understanding of the desires and needs of our clients to produce a masterpiece that exceeds expectations.  We strive to produce an enduring architecture of simplicity and grace which will withstand the test of time.

 

Norris Architecture began in September of 2003 with one primary goal in mind—to serve our clients. The result of this objective is a practice that is remarkably flexible in method of project delivery. We approach every project with the understanding that every client is different and brings different sets of skills, knowledge and personal history to the table. With this understanding it is our goal to make the methodology and services provided fit the needs of our clients rather than asking our clients to fit a predetermined model for us.

 

At Norris Architecture we work both in-person and remotely, allowing us to enjoy working in different contexts with clients all over the country. A large percentage of our practice is dedicated to high-end, custom, residential projects for both owners and builders ranging in sizes from 4,000 to 20,000 sq ft. Whether it be a new creation or transforming an existing structure, we have proven skills in managing and coordinating highly complex projects while keeping a constant eye on ending with a beautiful result and exceeding our clients’ exacting desires. The repeated return and referrals of these clients stand as the best testament that we have achieved our ideals.

We have also had the opportunity to work with builders and developers in many of the neo traditional developments in the Nashville area to develop floor plans and elevations for a variety of houses. Remarks that our designs tend to be some of the best in these neighborhoods have been validated by strong and quick sales.

Our commercial work has also generated the appreciation of satisfied clients who have become repeat clients. For example, while working with the same developer, we collaborated on the mixed use development of Edgehill Village, which incorporates retail, restaurant, office, and residential components set in the heart of the music row area of Nashville, as well as rehabbed a warehouse on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville into office space for multiple tenants catering primarily to executives of the music industry.
